Re: Your OOO message

Spring break season is upon us! Or is it spring break szn? 🤔 Either way, remember that seasons are not capitalized, so it’s spring break, not Spring break (or Spring Break). And if you will be out of office, be conscious of context when you’re using the abbreviation OOO. It means different things to different people.

A screenshot of a message from Stylebot on Slack that reads: Don't use the abbreviation "OOO" without explaining it, as it stands for different things in different contexts: "His reply said that he was 'OOO until further notice,' using the common abbreviation for 'out of office.'"

For some, it means “out of office.” But other people could interpret it as “one on one” or “out of order.”

What comes to mind when you see “OOO”?
